Kamptal Classic Trophy MTB

The Kamptal Classic Trophy has meanwhile become a classic and is perfect for determining where you are after the winter. There was a small starting lap to complete and then 4 main laps. The XC race in the Kamptal still accommodates 850 meters in altitude over only 24km. Between the vineyards it goes technically uphill and downhill, there is nowhere to take a breather. Because I entered the race late, I started the race second to last, in front of me about 90 other starters, the favorites in the first row. I put everything on one card and launched an attack towards the front after the starting gun. On the 1st km uphill, as the starting field stretched out, I was able to work my way up the field. It was like a "finish sprint" only even at the beginning of the race. In the first downhill I was already the leader, I pushed it further and looked at how the other guys were doing. Only one followed me, about 10 others in the chasing group already tore a big hole. Together with the eventual winner of the race, I set a good pace to put us clearly ahead, neither of us wanted to give up. Only in the last lap did my attack from the start become noticeable and I had to slow down a bit. I finally finished 2nd overall, the third was already two minutes behind. With this achievement I will travel to Cyprus next Wednesday for the start of the xterra season to the Xterra Cyprus, which is scheduled for next Sunday.
