Dominiks passion about sport was always very high. Skiing was the first big passion for him which he learned in the age of 2. After a couple of years the snowboard was more interesting. When he became 8 he was looking for new challenges and played basketball until he was 16. Also in the age between 10 and 14 he was practicing Judo for improving his fitness while having fun with friends.
The mountainbike was always a special thing for him and after 3 or 4 months after stopping basketball he decided to sign up in a triathlon club. In the beginning it was only a swim training twice a week, mountainbike riding when ever there was time for it. After a while he really fell in love with this sport and did a few competitions.
In 2011 when he raced some races of the Xterra world tour in his age group category he almost won every single race U20. That means he was qualified for the biggest event in the world of Xterra, the xterra world championship in Maui/Hawaii. With the feeling to win almost every race in Europe he went there to race for the podium. In the end he came in 5th and was a little bit disappointed.
The next year, in 2012 he tried the same thing and after one year of more spezific training he won a bronze medal at the Xterra World Champs. This showed him that everything is possible when you keep your dreams in mind all the time. Some more years of racing as age group athlete made him think of getting more professional. In the end of 2015 he started as PRO for the first time and had a great race. In 2017 he won his first prize money at an xterra event, and in summer 2017 he won his first overall title at the Xterra Canmore/Canada.
The most important thing for Dominik is to have fun with the sport, the travelling, the people and of course performing on a high level.
